Should college compensate me in any way becasue of family housing denial?
I am a college senior who requested to live in family housing. The housing is marketed to single parents and married students. I applied and was told there was too many of us in a household to live in student housing after being asked what were the ages of my children who are 10, 9, and 3. Housing includes water, garbage, power, local phone, internet, and transportation around the campus, free dryers. Although the apartment is an efficency it still big enough for us all and I would like it and it only cost 2060 a semster. Shoud I appeal and fight for the school to cover these expenses off campus where I live now since I was denied campus housing? Denying me the opportunity to live on campus is denying me accsess to university experience, enviornement, and resource and tools to help me be a better student.
If you are dealing with a long commute which is negatively affecting your studies, then bring that up too!
However, keep in mind that sometimes family housing really does get filled up…
